The Archaeology Center is a hands-on learning and research facility on the Cincinnati campus for furthering and enhancing the study of Archaeology and integrating it with Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern history and culture. The artifacts in The Archaeology Center, which span from the 2nd to the 1st millenia BCE, were discovered at excavations run by HUC-JIR and others in Israel. The Center’s visual displays and artifacts provide students with a window into the multi-cultural world of antiquity. Visitors learn how archaeologists identify and date pottery by its features and where it is found. The evolution of the alphabet and the significant periods and events of ancient history are also featured.
