Updates from the Taube Family Campus in Jerusalem

91¿ì²¥ in Solidarity with Israel

Prioritizing Well-being in Challenging Times

Caring for our community during war.

Faculty, students, and staff on the Taube Family Campus in Jerusalem are working hard to sustain our campus community. Our priority has been the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of our students and our entire 91¿ì²¥ family during this difficult time of war.

Updates from Our Campus

Our priority has been the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of our students and our entire Hebrew Union during this difficult time of escalating war.

  • The in-person portion of the Year-In-Israel program will begin on July 27. On Sunday, June 29th students came together over zoom with YII Director Rabbi Reuven Greenvald and Cantor Rabbi Shani Ben-Or to mark the original start date for the program. They were joined by President Rehfeld, Provost Judah Cohen, and Seminary Director Rabbi Andrea Weiss. As students arrive in Israel over the coming weeks, programs that accommodate in-person, hybrid, and fully virtual modalities will continue. The reduced in-person summer term will run from July 27 through August 21. The fall semester will begin on August 31 as planned; but we are closely monitoring events and will communicate promptly if we need to make further changes. Students should continue to check the YII Canvas site for further details.
  • The campus and library have reopened. As we monitor the Home Front Command’s directives on a daily basis, campus access will be updated accordingly.
  • We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep alumni updated on any changes in plans for the upcoming programs in accordance with local guidelines. We hope alumni will on July 13 for HaOlam Omed virtually to stand together in solidarity.
